This is my hair after 5 months of no shampoo (and This is my hair after 5 months of no shampoo (and years of no cutting). For no clear reason I decided to stop using shampoo about 5 months ago. I heard this is called #nopoochallenge. So I started rinsing my hair with just water, every shower. Within a few weeks my hair clearly stopped the overproduction of grease. But I guess the challenge lies in the fact that the grease already existing in your hair is not easily washed out without the shampoo it was used to. This meant it got harder and harder to comb my hair or even put it in a tail. There were a couple of times I felt like giving up. I wasn't the biggest fan of combing my hair to begin with so this surely didn't help. But my ever supportive husband, who has been through this process a few years ago, helped me to keep up. Saying things like : "Everyone is jealous of my hair, keeps asking me what I do about it - nothing!" and "I do not ever want to go back to shampooing." supported me to continue. Since a month or two the worst is over. The grease is gradually disappearing, combing is much easier again and my hair is happyer than ever. It has a softness, strongness and radiance I've not experienced before. I can honestly say it's absolutely worth the challenge! Do you feel like going through this process too? Funny thing is, ever since I've put it on my car 🚙 , I've been feeling a bit different driving. It used to be difficult for me to deal with aggressive, intolerant or dangerous behaviour from other road users in a way that was healthy for me. I used to take it in too much. But now, every time someone does something I would have done differently, I feel : "Yes, you are loved too." And woops..! There goes the negative energy!
